I have an extensive library of content I've downloaded while running XP Home SP2 and Windows Media Player 10. I've upgrade my system to both Vista and Office 2007 and WMPlayer will NOT play ANY of the content for which I have the DRMs and orignal conent, that I saved on a removeable drive. For what it's worth, Im running the above software on a HP m7330n (media center PC Athelon 64x2) Vista will not support Media Player 10 b/c I've unistalled WMP 11 and tried. No luck,.

Windows Media Player - DRM for downloaded content not honore
You can't uninstall WMP11 on Vista, and doing so would do bad things if you tried. =)
Under WMP's Help:About:Technical Support information page, what Indiv Version does it list? What error do you get?

Hi! I'm having a similar problem. When I try to play songs I downloaded from AOL not only they do not play, but also Windows Installer is popping up looking for "URGE.msi" I could not find this file on my system disk. After that I searched the installation disk, but the result was the same. Did you have any problems with the MTV Networks program URGE?

I dunnno what happened to the gentleman who was commenting and trying to help, but for anyone else who might be able to help. Still having difficulty using the player to play content from two specific sites, either files I'm legally authorized to have (via DRM) or streaming.. however I did submit a trouble ticket to one, and their diagnostic utility which automatically scans the system and setup of a user submitting an IT trouble ticket, scanned the media player as version 6.4.. .wierd huh?

i submitted a helpdesk ticket at one of the sites from which I cannot stream (error message says cookies arent enabled.. and trust me, they are) or play my previously downloaded legally content.. the diagnostic tool which takes a snapshot of your system when you submit the request identified the WMP verion as 6.4!!
I dunno what this means, but I thought I'd pass it along in case it means something to someone.
